Cabo San Lucas calls itself the marlin capital of the world and the Bisbee's Black & Blue tournament each October is the reason the claim sticks. Striped marlin are here all year. Blue and black marlin, the tournament fish, run from roughly June to November.
Dorado and yellowfin tuna fill out the summer and autumn calendar and are the fish most charters actually bring back. Roosterfish along the East Cape shoreline are a spring and summer target and are catch-and-release by convention.
Every angler on board needs a Mexican fishing licence. Reputable charters include it and hand you the paperwork; if the price looks unusually low, that is often what is missing.
