Privacy notice
The Real Cabo collects two things: your email address if you subscribe to the newsletter, and an anonymous record of which outbound booking links get clicked. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising trackers, and you can have anything we hold deleted by emailing us.
Newsletter subscriptions
If you subscribe, we store your email address, the page you subscribed from, and the date. Subscription is double opt-in: we email you a confirmation link and you are not added until you click it. Email is sent through Resend, which processes it on our behalf. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from all future sends.
Outbound link clicks
When you click a booking link we record which page it came from, which product it pointed at, the approximate country of the request, the referring page and the browser user agent string. This lets us measure which recommendations readers find useful, independently of the affiliate network's own reporting. We do not attach a persistent identifier, we do not build a profile, and we do not sell or share this data.
Third parties
Booking links take you to viator.com, which sets its own cookies and applies its own privacy policy — including the affiliate attribution cookie described in our affiliate disclosure. Once you leave this site, Viator's terms govern. This site is hosted on Vercel and its data is stored with Supabase; both process data on our instruction.
What we do not do
No advertising networks. No third-party behavioural trackers. No cookie wall or consent interstitial, because we do not set the kind of cookies that would require one.
Retention and your rights
Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days. Click records are kept for 24 months. You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing hello@therealcabo.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this notice changes materially we will update the date on this page and, for subscribers, say so in the next newsletter.
