Our editorial rules
- We pay for everything. No comped tours, no press trips, no free hotel nights. A tour that knows a writer is on board is not the tour you will get.
- Real numbers or none. Every price is in US dollars and reflects what people actually pay, not a headline "from" figure. Every duration is the real one. Where we are estimating a range, we say we are estimating.
- We write around operators, not from them. We do not spin product descriptions into page copy. If a page reads like a brochure, we have failed.
- We say when something is not worth it. A guide that recommends everything recommends nothing. Several pages on this site tell you to do the free version instead of the paid one.
- Disclosure on every page. The affiliate relationship is stated above the fold everywhere, not buried in a footer. Full disclosure.
- Dates are real. The "last updated" stamp on every page reflects an actual review, not a script that touches the date to look fresh.
Who writes this
Jason writes The Real Cabo from the Pacific coast of Mexico. He books, rides and eats his way through Los Cabos the same way readers do — paying full price, with no comped tours — and rates operators on whether he would send a friend.
Based in Mexico year-round. Every recommendation on this site is written from firsthand experience or direct operator contact, never from a press release.
Corrections
Prices move, operators change hands, and seasons shift. If something here is wrong, tell us at hello@therealcabo.com and we will correct it and update the page date.
About this site
How does The Real Cabo make money?
Through the Viator affiliate programme. When a reader books a tour after clicking one of our links, Viator pays us a commission at no extra cost to the reader. We are paid the same regardless of which operator you choose, so we have no incentive to steer you toward one over another.
Do operators pay for coverage on this site?
No. We do not sell placement, we do not accept payment for reviews, and we do not run sponsored posts. Nothing on this site can be bought.
Do you take free tours?
No. We pay full price like everyone else. A comped tour is a different tour, and we would rather have the version readers get.
