Los Cabos food tours: what they cost and which neighbourhood to pick
Food tours in Los Cabos cost $75–$150 per person for three to four hours and split between two very different areas: the taco stands and cantinas of downtown San José del Cabo, and the upscale restaurant scene of Cabo San Lucas. San José is the better food; Cabo San Lucas is the better night out.

Baja California Sur has a genuine regional cuisine — chocolate clams, smoked marlin tacos, machaca, damiana, and a wine culture fed by the Valle de Guadalupe further north — and a good food tour is the fastest way into it.
San José del Cabo's historic district is the strongest ground for this. It is compact, the restaurants are chef-owned rather than hotel-owned, and the street food is a short walk from the fine dining.
Cabo San Lucas tours lean toward higher-end restaurants and mixology, which is a legitimate thing to want, just a different one. Expect fewer stops for the same money.
Best based in San José del Cabo. Season: Year-round; art walk Thursdays November–June.
