Three days is enough for a couple if you stay in one place and book only two things. Base in San José del Cabo or Pedregal, book a small sailing catamaran and one long dinner, and leave the rest empty. Budget $600–$1,200 per person excluding flights and accommodation.

The principle

A three-day trip has room for two booked things. Any more and you spend the weekend on a schedule and in a taxi.

Both nights in the same place. The 45-minute drive between the towns eats an evening if you try to do both.

Day 1: Arrive slowly

Land, get to the hotel, and do not plan anything for the first afternoon.

    Fifteen minutes to San José del Cabo, fifty to Pedregal. Decline everyone in the arrivals hall.

    Dinner in the Gallery District

    Walkable, chef-owned, and the best food in the region. Book ahead.

Day 2: One boat, one long dinner

The single booked day.

  1. · Cabo San Lucas marina

    Small-group sailing catamaran

    Three to four hours with a snorkel stop at Santa María. Ask whether the sails actually go up — many 'sailing' catamarans motor the whole way.

    This is the part of the itinerary people delete and then regret.

    Pedregal has the best view of Land's End in the region. A terrace bar there beats a boat for the same money.

A morning at the best beach in the region, then the airport.

Is 3 days enough in Cabo?

For a couple, yes, if you stay in one area and book no more than two activities. It is not enough to see both towns properly and take a day trip.
