- Start with the costra de pastor: pastor pork wrapped in an asadero cheese crust. For a second direction, the menu lists miso fish with cucumber and jícama, plus mushroom and cactus options. Our pairing: galleries first, tacos afterwards.

Flora Farms
- Flora lists a free guided farm tour that can be arranged around a meal. Ask for the tour and restaurant booking together. You can also walk the grounds independently without a reservation; the restaurant is the part to reserve ahead.
- Set aside time for the grounds and a meal. Flora Farms is in Ánimas Bajas, so include a ride there and back in your day.

- Want to get in the water? Choose the roughly four-hour snorkel trip, with gear and a light lunch; transport depends on the package you book. Want a sunset party? The Party Cruise is 18+. Want wine and a soundtrack? Tropicat’s roughly two-hour Jazz & Wine trip uses recorded instrumental jazz, not a live band.

The Rooftop at The Cape
- This is the dressed-up drinks option: an open-air rooftop with views towards El Arco, acoustic music at sunset and rotating DJs. Our move: request a time before sunset, then decide whether you want to stay for the later music.

Keep going beyond the square
San José Gallery District
- Explore the gallery streets behind the church and main square, then finish with tacos at La Lupita on Morelos. It makes an easy art-and-dinner pairing in the same district.

San José: galleries into tacos
Start in the Gallery District, browse at your own pace and finish with dinner at La Lupita’s San José branch. A seasonal Art Walk Thursday adds extra atmosphere.
A farm-and-food outing
Pair a Flora Farms visit with a restaurant reservation and give yourself time to explore the grounds. It is a lovely daytime outing from San José.
Make it a water day
Choose a snorkel cruise for the coastal boat ride and a guided stop, or Chileno’s public beach for a day at your own pace. If you love both, give each its own afternoon.
